John L. Malesovas

     John Malesovas has devoted most of his practice to complex litigation primarily emphasizing business, consumer and insurance disputes. He has had extensive experience in both prosecuting and defending cases involving some of the country’s largest corporations. This diverse background allows him to appreciate all sides of a dispute and anticipate his opponent’s actions before they happen. John Malesovas is Board Certified in both Civil Trial and Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a Certified Public Accountant which aids him in understanding complex financial transactions and resolving complex disputes.
     John Malesovas obtained his first multi-million dollar jury verdict in 1989. That case, involving numerous insurance companies and related entities, was tried to a jury for three weeks and resulted in a verdict for his clients in excess of $8 million. Since that time, John Malesovas has been lead counsel in jury trials or negotiated settlements of numerous cases resulting in millions of dollars in recoveries for his clients.
     In 1998, John Malesovas led the firm in successfully prosecuting two class action cases against Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. The cases were certified as class actions and culminated in the payment of over $6 million in settlement proceeds by Blue Cross to numerous policyholders and medical providers in Texas. John Malesovas has been instrumental in achieving substantial recoveries for thousands of consumers and insurance policyholders through class action litigation.
     John Malesovas has appeared in courts from California to South Carolina and is regularly retained to represent clients in courts throughout the state of Texas. John Malesovas has also worked directly with a number of insurance companies both in defending lawsuits and reviewing their business practices for potential litigation risks.
